On September 7th, 2017, Special Operations Forces Works (SOFWERX) hosted the OpenWERX, Airspew - Modular Dissemination System Prize Challenge. The participants were instructed to use open source, open hardware, and creative common building blocks to build three mounts for a DJI Phantom 4 Drone.
The Three Mounts were required to complete the following task:

Broadcast a pre-recorded message.

Broadcast a pre-recorded FM signal at 24 dBm/0.25 watts.

Drop up to 1 lb. of leaflets (One at a time)
The judging criteria was based on the physical design, the functionality of the DJI Phantom 4, total weight, and the efficiency of completing the tasks assigned.

26 participants registered for the prize challenge.

Six final submissions were submitted for judging.

$18,000 in awards were given to the top 3 submissions.

The top three were sent to FT. Bragg for further evaluation and in-field testing.
